We are urgently seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Officer Supply Chain Management (SCM) Professional with specialized expertise in bulk maize procurement to join our operations in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing agricultural commodities at scale, deep knowledge of East African grain markets, and a proven ability to manage suppliers, mitigate risks, and optimize procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for bulk maize sourcing in Tanzania.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with local and regional suppliers, cooperatives, and aggregators.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, weather patterns, and supply dynamics to inform buying decisions.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, quality standards, and internal SOPs.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of maize volumes as per operational requirements.
• Coordinate with logistics, transports, warehousing, and quality control teams to ensure seamless post-procurement handling.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of procurement activities, pricing trends, and inventory status.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements in the supply chain.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, Agriculture, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in bulk procurement of agricultural commodities, especially grains (maize preferred).
• Strong understanding of regional grain markets, farmer networks, and regulatory environments in East Africa.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced and remote field environments.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in Swahili or local languages is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
