Mission of the Role:
To act as the cornerstone of our strategic decision-making by conducting in-depth market research. You will transform raw data and information into actionable insights, identify new opportunities, and provide a clear understanding of the competitive landscape, consumer needs, and industry dynamics to guide our company's growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive industry analysis to map out key players, value chains, competitive forces, and potential for disruption.
Perform macro-environment analysis (PESTLE) to understand the political, economic, social, and technological factors affecting our business in Tanzania and the region.
Design and execute research (both primary and secondary) to deep-dive into consumer needs, behaviors, and pain points.
Analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, size markets, and forecast demand.
Synthesize findings into clear, compelling, and visually engaging reports and presentations for senior leadership.
Develop and maintain robust market models and dashboards to track key performance and market indicators.
Proactively provide data-driven recommendations to explore new business opportunities, market entry strategies, and product development ideas.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Rapid Learning & Insight: Proven ability to quickly immerse yourself in a new industry, understand its nuances, and generate sharp, insightful conclusions.
Data Acumen & Analytical Power: Exceptional numerical and analytical skills. Must be highly proficient in structuring problems, analyzing data, and extracting meaning from numbers.
Strategic Analysis: Demonstrable experience in conducting industry analysis, consumer demand analysis, and macro-economic analysis.
Structured Thinking: Ability to break down complex, ambiguous problems into structured components and think logically to develop solutions.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (including pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling) and PowerPoint for creating analysis and executive presentations.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Better-to-Have Qualifications:
Strong independent problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
High level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively gather information and present findings to various stakeholders.
Prior experience in management consulting, investment analysis, or a strategic insights role is a strong plus.
Familiarity with the Tanzanian or East African business environment.
Knowledge of additional data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SPSS, SQL) is an advantage.
