We are looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee operations within the truck spare parts and heavy equipment sector. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role, with expertise in the business regulatory landscape in Tanzania, and proven experience in managing relationships with government agencies such as TRA, TIC, TPA, and BRELA. The role requires experience with business permits, licensing, and tax/levy payments, ensuring full compliance with local laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all day-to-day operations within the business, ensuring efficiency in procurement, inventory management, sales, and customer service for truck spare parts and heavy equipment.
- Act as the main point of contact for government agencies such as TRA, TIC, TPA, and BRELA.
- Ensure that the company is compliant with all relevant regulations and requirements, including business permits, licenses, tax payments, and levies.
- Collaborate with the finance department to prepare and monitor budgets, financial forecasts, and cost control measures. Drive the financial performance of the business, ensuring profitability while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and employee engagement to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners. Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery, or service.
- Identify new business opportunities, including potential markets, products, and partnerships. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to expand the companys footprint in the truck spare parts and heavy equipment sector.
- Provide regular updates and reports on business performance, including sales, operations, and financial metrics, to senior management. Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes to drive growth and operational success.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities. Provide insights and recommendations to adapt business strategies in response to changes in the market landscape.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience.
- Proven experience working as a liaison with Tanzanian government agencies such as TRA, TIC, and BRELA.
- Experience managing business permits, licenses, tax filings, and compliance with Tanzanian laws and regulations.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, business permits, licensing, and regulatory processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.
